Der kleine Schildkrötenjunge Sebastian erzählt seinem Vater, was er alles werden will, wenn er groß ist: Pirat, Feuerwehrmann,  Taucher... Und dann will er wissen, was sein Papa werden wollte, als er klein war. Sein Papa sagt, er habe immer Vater eines Jungen sein wollen, den er ganz fest lieb haben könne. »So wie dich, Sebastian.« Darauf sagt der kleine Schildkrötenjunge leise: »Und ich möchte so werden, wie du bist, Papa.«

In den USA sind auch eine Taschenbuchausgabe und eine Version in Spanisch herausgekommen. 2004 ist eine Ausgabe in englischer und chinesischer Sprache und in deutscher Sprache eine Mini-Taschenbuchausgabe erschienen (ISBN 3-314-01392-2)
